My country just started its materials research and development with a weak foundation and a humble beginning, but after more than 30 years of hard work, my country has now become a major material power in the world. For example, the number of inventive patents and papers in cutting-edge research ranks first in the world. In terms of skill development, the number of professional and technical personnel has reached 1.2 million, which is the first in the world. In terms of scientific institutions, more than 400 new material technology innovation centers, national laboratories and industrialization bases have been built. In terms of enterprise construction, in 2020, the number of new material manufacturing enterprises in the country reached 8.67 million with an output value of more than 6 trillion yuan, accounting for 6% of GDP – here referring to the new material industry. as for the entire materials industry, it accounts for about 20% of GDP.
